RS232 to LoRaWAN Converter
Internext RS232 to LoRaWAN converter is a simple plug and play IoT device used in long-range low power focussed applications. The device includes a plug-and-play 27dBm LoRaWAN transceiver based on ISM band frequencies (IN865 and EU868). The module converts RS232 frames to LoRaWAN uplinks on any public or private LoRaWAN network and is available in indoor as well as outdoor variants. In addition to implementing AES-128 encryption, the device can support additional hardware based security.
EASY TO INSTALL
STEP 01
Install the module on flat surface with the help of two screws(diameter 3.175mm), separated by a distance of 29 mm (center to center).
STEP 02
The internal helical antenna radiates in normal mode. For best performance, the module should be mounted parallel to the receive antenna.
STEP 03
In case the direction of the receive antenna is unknown, it is recommended to mount the module vertically, pointing upwards.

Use Cases

Use IoT to make your Warehouse Smart
Today’s warehouse is far more than just a facility in which to store inventory. Industry 4.0 introduces a multitude of technologies into the warehouse, transforming it into a smart, adaptive environment. IoT enables secure connectivity resulting in improved accuracy, safer and more efficient operations.
Challenges
Warehouses that still have manual processes in place, there tends to be no common route taken to pick items for shipment, which adds unnecessary time to the process.
Also lack of inventory oversight can cause a buildup of inefficiencies within the warehouse that slows operations and increases costs.
Solution
Cutting edge LoRaWAN technology can be used to convert RFID reader serial output to a LoRa based output signal for long-range wireless communication. The flow of vehicles can be identified by the reader using unique UHF RFID tags and the swipe information will be relayed to the cloud server using LoRaWAN.
Outcome
Having accurate information on the location and availability of a particular product or material within the warehouse results in improved labour efficiency and also promote optimal warehouse setup, so that fast-moving items remain in priority areas.

IoT enabled Smart Energy Metering
The problem of all smart metering technologies requires wireless connectivity. Each smart meter must be able to transmit the readings collected to the central data storage reliably and securely. Using the power of LPWAN technology InterNext developed integrated solutions for automating the metering industry. InterNext offers an efficient and cost-effective solution with excellent reliability.
Challenges
Commonly physical visits of utility agents required for taking readings from residential water/electricity meters. The utility company has no other way but process meter readings manually wasting several days every month for more or less accurate accounting. One of the most disadvantages of manual metering systems is the unsuitability of traditional communications systems.
Solution
InterNext developed an elegant solution by using the power of LPWAN and deploying RS232 to LoRaWAN converter. With the help plug-and-play converter module, RFID reader serial (RS232) output converted to a LoRa based output signal for long-range wireless communication.
Each smart meter will be able to transmit the readings collected the central data storage reliably and securely.
Benefits
The main advantages of the smart metering are the provision of accurate and regular readings to the centralized metering application, avoiding a human factor from the data collection and other operations. Other additional benefits are:
- Real-time monitoring of system
- Less manual intervention
- Improved accuracy
- Increases scalability

Use AIoT to make your factory safe
Condition monitoring is increasingly being used by factory operators as a way to reduce downtime, keep at peak operating efficiencies, and lower equipment costs. It brings big benefits including streamlined off-site troubleshooting.
Challenges
Condition monitoring for industries is a method of preventing failures in operations. The industry needs to provide a quick response to deviations from Standard Operating Conditions to minimize the revenue loss and ensure effective use of skilled manpower. Until now, factory operators carried out scheduled maintenance and regularly repaired machine parts to prevent downtime, hence, consuming unnecessary resources and driving productivity losses.
Solution
InterNext uses Artificial intelligence along with Internet of things (AIoT), to provide real-time monitoring of the environmental conditions of manufacturing operations. A lot of data is generated every millisecond so it can’t be directly passed to cloud, therefore, Machine learning models were incorporated to reveal hidden correlations in data sets and detect abnormal data patterns at the edge. Once the data is prepared it can be transferred using RS232 to LoRaWAN converter over LoRa Network.
Benefits
Condition Monitoring provides real-time insights into the equipment condition allowing teams to attend to the issues in time. This helps in avoiding machinery damage and optimizing machine downtime occurrences and start maintaining the machines before they break down.
